Hans Heinrich Ban was born in Zurich. Between 1541 and 1543, he was glass-painter to the city of Fribourg in the Üechtland region of Switzerland.
A work on glass-painting in Fribourg of the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries has been published recently, in which Ban and his panel depicting the Fall of Mankind, given by the glass-painter Hans Werro and Jakob Schlee for the town hall in Romont, are discussed in detail.
